| Prosper Chess Tournament - 2025 Fall | REGISTER |
Swiss-style tournament and multiple sections tailored to different age groups! Players will compete in 4 to 5 thrilling games, showcasing their strategic prowess. Top 3 finishers in each age section will walk away with Trophies or Medals, plus Certificates of Achievement to commemorate their victory. These are NOT USCF RATED tournaments but designed similar to USCF Scholastic tournaments. Tournaments will be held 4:45-7:15 p.m. October 6 October 27 November 17 |

Prosper Tennis Academy brings its passion for the game and expertise to help players of all ages and skill levels thrive. We offer a in-depth and comprehensive program designed to enhance your tennis sport skills. Meet your Coaches! Nick "Lucky" Strohla is a USPTA certified coach and 3x national team adult qualifier who has been coaching for over 10 years in Prosper. Andrew Kochevar is a product of Prosper High School and has been coaching in Prosper for 6 years and running the Town program for the last 2. Beginner Our Beginner Tennis Program is designed for students who are new to the sport or have limited experience. This welcoming and supportive environment focuses on building a solid foundation of tennis skills while fostering a love for the game. Participants will learn the basics of tennis through fun drills, games, and match play. Intermediate Our Intermediate Tennis Class is tailored for players who have a basic understanding of the game and are eager to take their skills to the next level. Whether you’ve just started competing in school tournaments or are looking to enter the competitive scene, this program will provide the tools and techniques necessary to enhance your performance on the court. Advanced UTR 2.0+/5.5+ Our Advanced Tennis Program is designed for competitive players currently participating in tournaments and holding a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR). This elite program focuses on refining skills, enhancing strategic play, and improving overall performance on the court. Pick one day a week and you will have 5 classes a session. Prices are shown as a full session. There will be no class September 1, October 13, October 31, and November 28. Prices will be at a reduced price in checkout if you choose a day/session that has a class during a holiday. |

| Prosper Chess Academy - 2025 Winter - 2025 Winter | REGISTER |
Novice 1: 4:50-5:50 p.m. Explore fundamental chess concepts such as the board, its pieces, rules, and phases of the game. Students will learn basic tactics, game positions, material advantage, exchanges, calculate simple exchanges (or trades). The Novice Level 1 is for participants with no prior chess training and have a little knowledge/ experience with Chess, who do NOT have established chess rating or their rating is < 200. Novice 2: 6-7 p.m. Students will learn game positions and piece strengths/ weaknesses. Better way to activate pieces and gain control of the board. They will also learn notations and advanced calculation of exchanges, and basic checkmate patterns. The Novice 2 level is for participants with a chess rating between 300 to 600. Beginner 1: 6-7 p.m. | Beginner 2: 4:50-5:50 p.m. Beginner Level is broken down into two parts: Beginner 1 and Beginner 2, as the beginner level course is too long to be completed in just 8 weeks! This level teaches transitional tactics between Novice and Intermediate. Students will learn complex exchanges and calculations, how to control the opponent territory, advanced checkmate patterns, positional play, use of their pieces effectively, piece harmony, and pawn formations all while enhancing their chess foundation! This level is for students with a chess rating of 600 to 1000. Students who do not know their chess rating can find it by signing-up creating your ID on chess.com. Once you create your ID, play about 15 to 20 RAPID games (Game timer of 10 or 15|10). |
