Prosper Tennis Academy - 2025 Winter REGISTER

Can Do Racquet Sports is Prosper's newest tennis program. Our dedicated team of experienced coaches from Bad Dawg Tennis is still here, bringing their passion for the game and expertise to help players of all ages and skill levels thrive but with a different name. Can Do Racquet Sports offers a more in-depth and comprehensive program designed to enhance your tennis sport skills.

Meet your Coaches! Nick "Lucky" Strohla is a USPTA certified coach and  3x national team adult qualifier who has been coaching for over 10 years in Prosper. Andrew Kochevar is a product of Prosper High School and has been coaching in Prosper for 6 years and running the Town program for the last 2.

Beginner

Our Beginner Tennis Program is designed for students who are new to the sport or have limited experience. This welcoming and supportive environment focuses on building a solid foundation of tennis skills while fostering a love for the game. Participants will learn the basics of tennis through fun drills, games, and match play.

Intermediate

Our Intermediate Tennis Class is tailored for players who have a basic understanding of the game and are eager to take their skills to the next level. Whether you’ve just started competing in school tournaments or are looking to enter the competitive scene, this program will provide the tools and techniques necessary to enhance your performance on the court.

Advanced UTR 2.0+

Our Advanced Tennis Program is designed for competitive players currently participating in tournaments and holding a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR). This elite program focuses on refining skills, enhancing strategic play, and improving overall performance on the court.

Run, Jump, and Throw - 2025 Spring REGISTER

Our Run Jump Throw class is perfect for young athletes looking to develop new skills and have fun! With age-appropriate running, jumping, and throwing activities, your child will be challenged in an encouraging environment while building confidence and new friendships. From mastering running techniques to learning about proper nutrition and from team relays to perfecting their jumping and throwing skills, this program offers a well-rounded experience that keeps kids moving and motivated. Your child will learn the essentials of throwing events like shot put and javelin, refining their techniques while developing strength and coordination. Our progressive training and skill-building activities are designed to help your young athlete take their abilities to the next level—all while having a blast!

The camp concludes with an exciting Mini Olympics where parents/guardians are invited to watch! Participants can showcase their new skills in a fun, supportive competition. Sign up today for a safe, fun, and rewarding experience that will spark your child's lifelong love of fitness and track and field!

Soccer Sparks Skills Classes - 2025 Spring REGISTER

Soccer Sparks offers age-appropriate soccer classes for kids ages 2 to 12 in a low pressure, high skill learning environment. The Soccer Sparks approach utilizes fun and games so that children develop a passion for soccer without the stress of competitive play. Taught by USSF Nationally Certified coaches, Soccer Sparks' “all-ball” training techniques help kids meet their maximum potential while emphasizing fair play and enjoyment of the sport.

  • 2-3 year-old-class
  • Parent and child soccer! By playing fun games, children improve their blossoming balance, coordination, and general motor skills. Aside from learning how to dribble and strike a soccer ball, children and parents also get the opportunity to share those first, unforgettable, goal-scoring adventures together.

  • 3-4 year-old-class
  • Kick the ball! The Soccer Sparks 3-4 year old class is designed to help kids develop their large motor skills and get them running, dribbling, and kicking the ball while having lots of fun. The kids learn the very basics of soccer through skill demonstrations and games as they transition from parent to individual participation.

  • 4-5-year-old-class
  • Dribble, kick, and pass! The Soccer Sparks 4-5 year old class is designed to spark an early passion for the game in young players. This class will encourage greater retention of foundational soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting in a positive environment. Our curriculum includes fun and energetic games that teach kids about playing within a group.

  • 6-9-year-old class
  • Dazzle with your footwork! The Soccer Sparks 6-9-year-old class utilizes the “all ball” approach to foster skill improvement and build player confidence. Players will learn to solidify such skills as dribbling, passing, trapping, receiving, juggling, and accurate shooting in a supportive team environment. This class emphasizes both personal player development and team play.

Soccer Sparks SPRING BREAK Camp - 2025 Spring REGISTER

This camp is based on our "all ball approach" of learning and mastering the fundamentals in the game of soccer. This program includes games which are fun to play but also physically challenging. Camp will reinforce the idea that youth sports are "developmental zone" with lessons and skills lasting a lifetime. Each day finishes with a scrimmage where children can "play with skills."

Intro to Archery with Archie - 2025 Spring REGISTER

Join us for a fun and engaging introduction to the sport of archery, taught by a certified instructor. This class is perfect for beginners picking up the bow for the firs time. You'll learn the basics of archery in a safe and supportive environment. Participants will explore the parts of a bow and target and discover the fundamentals of shooting an arrow. Through hands-on practice, you'll build confidence and improve your skills while enjoying interactive games like tic-tac-toe and aiming challenges with 3D targets. All equipment is provided. Please note, it is required to use bows provided by the Town of Prosper.

**Archers must be able to hold a 2lb - 4lb bow and pull a minimum 6lb - 10lb draw weight.**

Adaptive Shining Soccer Stars - 2025 Spring REGISTER

Our Shine program uses soccer to teach life skills to children with developmental challenges. Our coaches use a curriculum designed by educators and child therapists to help children progress while encouraging them to work at their own pace. This class will focus on simplifying soccer into specific components, while teammates work together to build new skills in fun, non-competitive environment.

Shining Soccer Stars Parent & Me Ages 1-3

This class will focus on simplifying soccer into specific components, while teammates work together to build new skill sin a fun, non competitive class. Our puppet friends, Mimi and Pepe, take you and your little one through exciting activities. 

Shining Soccer Stars Ages 4-10

Our program teaches soccer skills in a fun, non-competitive educational environment. We use soccer to promote socialization, strengthen peer interactions and advance gross and fine motor skills.

Shining Soccer Stars Ages 10+

Participants will learn soccer skills in a fun, non-competitive educational environment. We use soccer to promote socialization, strengthen peer interactions and advance gross and fine motor skills. In this group, we focus on social skills and emphasize the importance of teamwork.

A one time $30 material fee is required the first day of class and includes an Adidas jersey & soccer ball. This fee is required only for new participants. Returning participants do not need to pay this fee again.

Intro to Capoeira Martial Arts - 2025 Spring REGISTER

Capoeira is a martial arts that teaches Movement, Culture, Flexibility, Self-Defense and Acrobatics that you can use for the rest of your life. We have more kicks and movements than any other martial art. Capoeira is preformed and used in every country in the world. You will be taught the fundamentals of self defense,  the proper way to play, defend, pace yourself, acrobatics, sing and dance.

Prosper Chess Academy - 2025 Spring REGISTER
Novice 1: 4:50-5:50 p.m.

Explore fundamental chess concepts such as the board, its pieces, rules, and phases of the game. Students will learn basic tactics, game positions, material advantage, exchanges, calculate simple exchanges (or trades). The Novice Level is for participants with a chess rating range of 100-400. 

Novice to Beginner: 4:50-5:50 p.m.

This level is for the students who have attended both Novice 1 and Novice 2 in previous seasons with Prosper Chess Academy but are not at a 800 level yet. Or NEW students who have a gap in their prior training and would like to refresh their skills before joining Beginner 1. The topics covered in this level are going to be Novi 1 and Novice 2 combined with a new perspective. This level is for participants with a chess rating range of 200-600.

Novice 2: 6-7 p.m.

Students will learn game positions and piece strengths/ weaknesses. Better way to activate pieces and gain control of the board. They will also learn notations and advanced calculation of exchanges, and basic checkmate patterns. The novice to beginner level is for participants with a chess rating of 400-700.

Beginner 1: 6-7 p.m.

This level teaches transitional tactics between Novice and Intermediate. Students will learn complex exchanges and calculations, how to control the opponent territory, intermediate checkmate patterns, positional play, use of their pieces effectively, piece harmony, and pawn formations all while enhancing their chess foundation! This level is for students with a chess rating of 700 to 1000. 

Students who do not know their chess rating can find it by signing-up creating your ID on chess.com. Once you create your ID, play about 15 to 20 RAPID games (Game timer of 10 or 15|10).

Prosper Chess Tournament - 2025 Spring REGISTER
Swiss-style tournament and multiple sections tailored to different age groups! Players will compete in 4 to 5 thrilling games, showcasing their strategic prowess. Top 3 finishers in each age section will walk away with Trophies or Medals, plus Certificates of Achievement to commemorate their victory.

Electricity & Magnetmania SPRING BREAK Camp - 2025 Spring REGISTER

Green Wand: Unlocking Mystery SPRING BREAK - 2025 Spring REGISTER

Get Ready to take an amazing adventure into the exciting world of Magic. Learn how to cut a lady in half, give your friends superhero powers and make invisible objects appear in a magic pencil pouch just to name a few. In this course students will learn 8 secrets of magic principles and will discover the real secrets to becoming a true magician as each lesson reveals an important life skill to help build their confidence and communication skills. Each lesson comes with a custom magic prop, a top-secret file folder, and a secret word to unlock bonus videos in an online video vault. There are four wand courses each with different props and concepts of magic. They do not build on each other and can be taken in any order.
