Prosper offers a variety of programs designed just for Active Adults aged 55 and better! From top-notch fitness and art instructors to expert-led monthly lectures, there’s a place for you! Enjoy weekly social time, games, Bingo, bowling, and exciting day trips to make connections and have some fun. Need a little help? Scholarships are available for financial assistance, and our Heroes and Helpers Program offers special discounts for military members, veterans, first responders, and Prosper ISD employees!

AARP SDTek Workshop

Wednesday, October 31st | 11:00 a.m. - 12:30pm | The 407 Rec Center - 407 E First St, Prosper TX

Join our FREE 90-minute AARP SDTek workshop to learn all about the latest high-tech safety features in your current car, when you rent a car, or what technology to look for when shopping for a new car. Most of the workshop is spent on safety technologies developed for crash avoidance. The technologies include safety benefits of lane departure warning, blind spot warning systems, forward collision warnings, and much more!

Walking Club

Thursdays, September 25th - November 6th | 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Whitley Place Park 4001 Glacier Point Ct. Prosper, TX

Whether you're looking for a walking buddy, trying to add more steps to your day, increase your walking speed, or just enjoy going on brisk morning walks. Prosper's Active Adult Walking Club is here for you! This walking club is for individuals age 50+ that want to meet other local active adults and help encourage each other to stay active, and to build a healthy lifestyle.

We will be meeting consistently every Thursday during the Fall season from September 25th - November 6th at 9:00 a.m. We will go until 10:00 a.m.

You do not have to stay the whole time! You will be able to go at your own pace and walk for as long as you would like.

You will be asked to sign a waiver if it's your first time joining.

Cash Bingo

Mondays | 1:00 p.m. - 2:30p.m. | The 407 Rec Center - 407 E First St, Prosper TX

Every Monday. $10 for 10 games with 3 chances to win per game. We will pay out up to $10 per game, depending on amount of players. Any amount leftover will be raffled off. No registration required. Daubers are provided!


Bowling

Tuesdays | 1:00 p.m. | Strikz Entertainment - 8789 Lebanon Rd, Frisco, TX 75034

Join us every Tuesday for a fun-filled afternoon of bowling, meeting new people, getting exercise, and sharing laughter. Our laid-back group is not a league; there are no obligations, penalties, competition, or teams. You're welcome to come once or on a weekly basis, and we encourage bowlers of all skill levels to join us! Whether you score an 85 or a 185, you'll feel right at home. Registration is not required.

$13 per week due at the door. This covers three games and shoes. You only pay for the weeks you play. For questions about bowling, please contact Barbara Cottone at bcottone@prospertx.gov.

Dominoes

Any variety of dominoes-based games including 42, Mexican Train, or even Chickenfoot.

Beginning 9/2/25, Dominoes will be from 9:30a.m. - 12:30p.m.

Work all major muscle groups from head to toe.

Finish with core training and stretching for a complete workout!

Chair Yoga - 2025 Fall REGISTER

Chair yoga is great for those with limited mobility, vertigo, or those who have a sedentary lifestyle. Chair Yoga allows the yoga instructor to adapt postures making it accessible to everyone. A chair practice incorporates all of the tools of a regular yoga class such as deep breathing, postures and relaxation. The student receives the same benefits as a mat class without the difficulty of getting on the floor.

Chair Yoga Benefits:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Improve strength
  • Increase flexibility and range of motion
  • Improve circulation and blood pressure
  • Better and deepen breathing
